A consultant should expect to work directly with the customer on helping support the customer's IT initiatives. The consultant will need to be able to work quickly through a customer's IT organization in both documenting a solution and communicating that solution with developers, IT leaders, business people, and executives.
A consultant will be working as a direct part of the customer's IT organization. You will learn the customer's business, understand the customer's pain-points, and find new opportunities and new potential work for directors to propose.
